WELCOME TO GEETHANJALI MUSIC FESTIVAL

According to the beliefs of the devotee musicians, it is the blessing to get an opportunity to sing in front of Lord Balaji as the talent to sing or dance is a rare blessing from the almighty. All the devotee musicians and the dancers consider a chance to perform their talents in front of Lord Balaji at least once in a year as a great thing in their lives. This is the reason why the famous music festivals like Thyagaraja music festival at Thiruppathy, Thyagaraja sangeetharadhana at Thiruvaiyaru, Chembai sangeetholsavam at Guruvayoor etc are conducted every year.
Eleven day long Thyagaraja music festival at Thiruppathy  is conducted every year in the month of July for the last 70 years in Thiruppathy. Most of the famous musicians perform their talents in this festival which they consider it as the devotion towards lord Venkateswara and an inspiration to the children who learn music. The last Thyagaraja music festival was inaugurated on 29th of july 2012 at the Thyagaraja mandapam at Thiruppathy. Sri Venkateswara Vedic University Vice Chancellor S.Sudarshana Sarma inaugurated the programme. This eleven day event in the temple city was a mix of concerts by some of the reputed as well as upcoming artists across the country. A total of 29 programmes by 32 artists were the highlights of the programme.
Thyagaraja Aradhana at Thiruvaiyaru This is another annual Carnatic music festival usually held in the month of January at Thiruvaiyaru associated with the famous musician saint Thyagaraja. The 165th annual music festival was celebrated in January 2012. In the US, there is a Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana held in Cleveland, Ohio around easter.
Fifteen Day long Chembai sangeetholsavam at Guruvayoor Chembai sangeetholsavam is another annual Carnatic music festival held in Guruvayoor conducted by Guruvayoor temple devaswam as a kind of homage to the great famous Carnatic vocalist Sri Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar, one of the titans of Carnatic music. Around 2000 to 2500 musicians participate in the festival every year. The Chembai sangeetholsavam of 2012 is going on at the moment which was already started on 10/11/2012 until 24/11/2012.
Geethanjali Music Festival at Balaji Temple in Birmingham is our music and dance festival every year since last 11 years. Around 50 to 60 artists from all around UK performs every year at Balaji Temple. The idea of Geethanjali was germinated from the music festival in India .  It seems  a challenge to perform in temple especially in the European countries. The Thyagaraja Music festival conducted at Thiruppathy Venkateswara Temple has inspired the devotee singers and dancers in UK at a highest level and organized an annual festival at every winter.
